The Ocean Observing Systems Semantic Interoperability workshop is the second in a series of two semantic interoperability workshops. The OOSSI workshop is co-hosted by the Marine Metadata Interoperability project (http://marinemetadata.org/), the QARTOD-to-OGC project (http://q2o.whoi.edu), and the Gulf of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observing System (http://gcoos.tamu.edu/).

Several staff members from BCO-DMO will be participating in the OOSSI workshop. Our participation will help us achieve two goals: 1) foster communication and collaboration with NOAA funded data managers and 2) advance efforts to resolve differences between various project-specific term vocabularies used within BCO-DMO and to crosswalk BCO-DMO vocabularies with vocabularies used by ocean observatory management teams.

Workshop Location: University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) Foothills Lab in Boulder, CO, USA (http://www.ucar.edu/org/bouldermap.shtml)
